This letter is from a time when I struggled with my eating disorder. I just starved myself for five months and many emotions captivated me.

I can name 3 people from high school who had eating disorders. Peer contagion is the influence a friend has on your behavior and emotions.

You will never look like that and why that's okay. Supermodels and bodybuilders work insanely hard for unattainable beauty standards.

My life purpose or spirituality is my religion, Christianity. Let me unpack that so you understand my eating disorder history better.

Why do I write? I started to figure out how to express my emotions. My eating disorder evolved into emotional eating and I needed help.

In the ten years that I have struggled with an eating disorder, the hardest part was bringing it to God. My faith has suffered.

A while ago, I stepped on the scale and realized something: I dealt with an eating disorder for ten years. TEN YEARS! This is my story.

It's a slippery slop. My eating disorder creeped up on me when I wasn't looking. To understand my recovery, you have to know where it began.

I thought I couldn't lose weight because I grew up overeating. But it was because of my family, I recovered from my eating disorder.
